The coach of the Greek team was once a patient of Merk years before and Portugal complained that this would affect his refereeing of the game as a conflict of interest. Despite this, Merk was allowed to work the game and in the end, was hailed for excellent and fair refereeing of the match.
Merk was appointed to referee in the 1992 Summer Olympics which was held in Barcelona, Spain. Uproar Over Footballer Mansion In
Conservation Area
Yet another footballer has come under attack in Alderley Edge in Cheshire for putting a blot on the picturesque landscape. Residents are infuriated after the Manchester City footballer Joleon Lescott decided to build a huge mansion in place of a bungalow on a plot of land. The mansion will be four storeys and is said to be totally out of keeping in the area.
Neighbours are calling the design of the house a "carbuncle" which will look totally out of place. The 24million defender is not the only footballer to come under fire from residents in the area, many have taken the same route of buying up old properties, razing them to the ground and putting up huge mansions in their place.
The main point of concern is the sheer size of the sprawling mansions and the Georgian style of it. The houses in the area are typical Victorian designs and so the house will stand out from the rest. Alderley Edge is home to many of the Manchester United and Manchester City footballers and so the houses in the area are often over the top footballers Wives style pads and the locals have had enough.
Lescott paid 1.45million just for the plot and is intending on spending millions more to create the huge mansion which is predicted to be worth more than 4million once completed. There will be six bedrooms in the house and at the moment it is in its early stages of construction as the original bungalow had to be demolished first. The new house will be of a high spec with a basement leisure suite. This will include the indoor pool, pool bar, sauna and spa. There will also be a cinema room, gym and a wine cellar.
Edge Association was set up by the disgruntled locals in the area and they aim to protect the village's heritage. Their members told planning chiefs that they were unhappy with the demolition of the bungalow because it was situated within the Conservation area. Planning consent was granted and the plot was then bought by a developer who submitted the plans for the mansion on the site.
One resident called the proposal brutish in both its size and its design and said that for the last four or five years the locals have had to witness perfectly good homes being torn down to make way for these new homes which creates lots of mess.
Another resident criticised that fact that the new house is based on the Georgian period which will look totally out of character in Alderley Edge which is mostly Victorian. Another resident said that the design shows no architectural value at all but will only dominate with its sheer size and be a "carbuncle on the landscape".

Join a Football Team on The Basis of Your
Talent
David John Hall Say's. If you are a football lover then you must always think about playing real football within a team. This is the dream of every footballer, but playing in an international team won't be possible for everyone, who has never played in a club. If you wish to be a professional footballer, then you will have to start by joining a football team, which must be local to you. There are various football teams operating in nearby areas, but they are just bunch of amateurs running behind the ball. So, the ultimate solution for this problem would be to search for those teams, who are serious about this game, and they are not just playing for fun.
There is one such website named Corner, which is having a huge user database of players and users, who are interested in this game. All you have to do is create a profile on this website, and then start searching for teams so that you can join it ultimately. If you can join it, then you will have to ask the main person of that team to start some matches with other local teams.
One of the best things about this system is that you get to meet local players and teams, who are willing to play with you. These teams are not amateurs, but they believe in quality playing, and they are having the seriousness towards this game. Therefore, they only select those players who are having some perfect skills sets. If you think that you are having all the skills, and then you can surely join a football team, otherwise it would be very hard for you to join any teams. Hence, it's advised that you should practice before applying for any team, because these teams will only select you on the basis of your skills.
One of the most important things which you must remember that you can always enhance your skills by watching videos on YouTube, or you can get some proper training from professional coaches. Learning from online medium might give you some knowledge, but a coach will teach you personally, and you might get recommendations from him in other clubs. Therefore, it is always a better idea to start learning this game before it's too late. Because there is an age limit of this game, and it requires a high quality of fitness and stamina to perform better than others.

David john hall gives five Tips To Become A
Professional Footballer
David John Hall or Jarred Hall Football is a great sport and is very popular all around the world; however it is not an easy sport to play especially when talking about becoming professional.
Football at the high end of the spectrum is intense and requires not just phenomenal talent but a work ethic and drive to train hard and be completely committed to speed, skill, strength and stamina. Without these attributes, one cannot hope to become a professional footballer.
Below we have put together 5 important tips that you will need to obey if you have any hope of making it on to a professional footing in football. Before you go down this route, you need to have natural skill and talent and this is something that only a coach can tell you that you have.
Tip1
Firstly you need to be totally committed and this means being able to sacrifice nights out, drinking with friends and all the other 'vices' that young people enjoy doing. A lot of great football talent is flushed away with partying and nights out because they simply are distracted and people with more dedication who rest and have early nights perform better on the pitch.
Tip2
Outside of football training you need to have your own personal training and that means early morning runs, sprint training and gym training. All this needs to be done even in the rain or snow. Again this is down to sheer commitment and self motivation which is essential to succeed on the football pitch.
Tip3
There is a strong belief that a good footballer should be very into watching football both present day and classic matches as this gives them in sight into great moments, new skills and plays that work. When a young Mike Tyson was training as a teenager, he used to watch and study old fighters every night which gave him great mental knowledge of some of the past greats and new moves that he could use. The same principles apply to football.
Tip4
You need to be inspired and motivated and sometime the best way to do that is to have a current football icon that you strive towards. So if you are a Manchester United fan, you need to find a role model in there such as a great player like Wayne Rooney. A good way to find inspiration is to read his book and learn his story on how he came from nothing to wearing the great Manchester United kit.
Tip5
Practicing football is essential to becoming professional and that means during training sessions, working hard at your weaknesses such as passing, shooting, defending or whatever they might be. Then after practice working on your own skills in your own time will help you improve.
To be a professional footballer you need to live and breathe the game both physically and mentally and even then there are no guarantees.

Most Controversial Incidents in Football
By. David John Hall
David John Hall has mesmerized its fans, brought sadness as well as immense joy, and swept away all boundaries to unite millions across the globe. But there have been countless incidents which have led to controversy raising its ugly head and leaving behind a black spot in the otherwise flawless game loved by most of the people. The first controversial moment that comes to mind is Manchester United forward Eric Cantona's infamous kung fu kick that was aimed at a Crystal Palace fan, after he racially abused the forward during a Premier League match that took place on the 25th of January, 1997. It is often referred to as the most controversial incident that has ever happened on the pitch in the history of football.
Off the back of Cantona's kung fu kick comes another incident that shocked football fans across the world. It was the final of the 2006 World Cup, and the French faced the Italians. Instigated by Italian center back Materazzi, former France captain Zinedine Zidane headbutted the defender and was immediately sent off after the referee showed him a red card. France went on to lose the final and Italy was crowned champions. The only time Kuwait qualified for a World Cup was back in 1982. The experience was more on the sour side as a goal was disallowed for France after a Kuwaiti Sheikh decided that the goal must not stand as it had been scored after his players heard a whistle being blown from the crowd. Eventually the referee agreed to the wishes of the sheikh and decided to revert the decision which was finally of little bearing as France thrashed Kuwait by 4-1.
1996 saw Liverpool legend Graeme Souness celebrate a win over Fenerbache in the most controversial way ever. He took a Galatasaray flag and planted it right in the middle of the pitch inside the Fenerbache stadium which made him a fan favourite at Galatasaray and equally incurring the fury of Fenerbache fans.
Premier League side Liverpool's Champions League campaign in 2005 could have been way different had the referee not made a shocker of a decision. Playing fellow Premier League side Chelsea at Liverpool's home Anfield, Steven Gerrard's side was awarded a goal with less than four minutes to the final whistle. Replays confirmed that the ball had never crossed the line and the goal shouldn't have been allowed. The 1990 World Cup second round game between Germany and Netherlands turned ugly after Rudi Voller took on Frank Rijkaard in a hard tackle. Infuriated by Voller's tackle, he spat on him and the latter made a complaint with the referee. The two continued to fight and the referee went on to show them the red card later during the game.
Uruguay striker Luis Suarez maybe a deadly force to reckon with and can turn the game on its head singlehandedly, but his on field antics are bothersome. Three times in his career, Suarez has been caught biting his opponents, which has resulted in FIFA handing him severe penalties and hefty fines alongwith bans. The first casualty was Otman Bakkal in the Dutch League. Then it was Ivanovic's turn to be at the receiving end of Suarez's bite in a game which saw Chelsea draw 2-2 at Anfield against Liverpool. In the World Cup of 2014, he went on to bite Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini in a do or die group game with scores level.
Diego Maradona was a force to reckon with during his days. More than his performances, he would always be remembered for his 1986 World Cup goal against England which had resulted to be the scandal of the century. His second goal led to worldwide debate as replays confirmed that he used his hand and punched the ball on its way to the goal. The incident caused widespread disagreement and was leter known as the Hand of God.
And lastly, it was a match during the Euro 2016 qualifier between Albania and Serbia. Emotions were on the higher side as both teams were desperate to secure a place in the tournament. The match was interrupted at different times for a variety of reasons, the most prominent one being an incident that involved a drone carrying an Albanian flag. All hell broke loose when Serbian player Stefan Mitrovic pulled down the flag. The crowds got agitated and hurled projectiles at the players, one of them being hit by a chair even. It was chaos at the stands and unsurprisingly, the referee decided to abandon the game after 41 minutes of regulation time after players and supporting staff from both the teams engaged in an ugly on field spat.

5 Tips To Become A Professional
Footballer by David John Hall.
Football is a great sport and is very popular all around the world; David John Hall Say's it is not an easy sport to play especially when talking about becoming professional.
